The Parish Council’s application to KCC for funding was successful and we have been awarded a grant towards internal and external refurbishment of the pavilion. Repair work has begun on the flat roof, but unfortunately this was started too late to prevent rain water damage to the internal ceilings. The affected areas have been temporarily sealed off due the possibility of low risk asbestos in the artexed ceilings. Temporary portaloos have been provided while the damage is being assessed by the insurance company.

The first stage of remedial works to the cricket square is underway with Groundcare Ltd, the specialist contractor appointed by the Council, treating and scarifying the wickets.

It has been confirmed that the artex coating on the water damaged ceilings does not contain asbestos as originally feared.

The ladies loos have been re-opened for use, but the gents remain closed until repairs to the ceiling have been made. The home and away changing rooms are available for use.

The association is working with the insurance company and the Parish Council to ensure the repairs are completed as quickly as possible.
